Ankita Lokhande, famous from her show, Pavitra Rishta, is a television superstar and a soon to be movie actor. She is also one of the highest paid female actors on the small screen. She originally hails from Indore in Madhya Pradesh and was born in a Maharashtrian family and used to go by the name of Tanuja. The acting bug bit her at a young age and she left her studies to come to Mumbai to pursue her passion.

Ankita’s first show which she successfully cleared the audition for, never made it to the small screen. In 2009, she was cast as the leading lady, Archana, alongside the now movie star and her ex-boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput, for Pavitra Rishta the Zee prime time hit show. Playing a simple Marathi girl, Ankita became a household name. She also participated in the celebrity couple dance reality show with Sushant, Jhalak Dikhla Ja Season 4 in 2011 on Colors. It was during this show that Sushant proposed to her, but the relationship did not last long post Sushant’s move into Bollywood. Ankita went on to do Comedy Circus and Ek Thi Nayika. She is currently shooting for Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi with Kangana Ranaut. She will essay the role of Jhalkaribai, a close confidante of Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi, played by Kangana.

Ankita has a net worth of approximately US $ 3 million. She charges US $ 2800 per episode for TV appearances. She originally moved into her Malad flat with Sushant and has continued to stay post the latter’s move to Bandra after the break-up. Ankita gifted herself a luxurious Jaguar in 2016.
